Saturday, May 8   Bent of the River     Southbury CT    Staff will lead us on a bird and nature walk around the property.   Meet at the parking lot at the entrance to the park.  

Exit 14 off Rt 84.  Take 172 North (So Britain Rd) turn left onto E Flat Hill Rd, go about 1/3 of a mile, turn left into sanctuary.

 

The Bent is an “IBA” (Important Bird Area)  This means that this forest is essential to birds and other biodiversity. Some of these resources are  threatened or endangered, and the forest is worthy of special consideration for conservation.   To learn more about this beautiful preserve, click on

Saturday, May 15    Buzz Devine will lead us on a walk through the Naugatuck State Forest.  We will meet the Cross St commuter parking lot,  just off exit 25 of Rt 8 in Naugatuck.  Northbound rt, turn right at end of exit, pass Borgnis rd, parking lot will be on left.  Southbound, exit 25, turn left onto Cross St, pass under rt 8 pass Borgnis rd, parking lot will be on left.
