There are things we all put off and my writing this has been one of them. The time has come for NVAS to end. We have sent out a number of help requests which have gone unanswered and the three remaining board members are worn thin. We do not have anything on the calendar for the remainder of this season and will look at wrapping things up by June. If you or anyone you know has any interest in reviving the chapter this is your chance so let us know. We thank you for your support, attendance at our events, and volunteering for projects we have. NVAS has had some accomplishments with fun and educational programs with monthly speakers and the Young Naturalists, all the bird houses have been refurbished, Purple Martin house is up at Kellogg, Barn Owl houses installed at a couple locations, garden refurbished at Kellogg, fishing line recycle bins at Naugatuck State Forest and Pickett's Pond and other good things which involved school and community members. We have volunteers interested in taking over some of the monitoring but if you want to join in let us know. Since this page is linked to my personal account I will see about changing the name and non-profit status and keep it going pretty much as it has been. NVAS has been an enjoyable journey and I'm looking forward to new experiences and adventures ahead. Thank you for following us and all your support!
